In March of this year, Julia Marhan spoke with WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, to discuss her career and inspiring move to entrepreneurship through values and vision. As an alumna from the Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA program, Julia was prepared for continuing an exciting and successful career.
Since working with large companies, including Nestle and IBM, and most recently as Vice President for a massive pharmaceutical company (B.Braun) in Germany, Julia says she began “questioning” her purpose in life. With her impressive resume and network, Julia decided to go in another direction that fit her desire to create environmental change.
After moving to the United States, Julia decided to take the risk of founding Terum, to make sustainability and environmentalism more accessible and engaging.
“Terum, at its core, is based on the idea of community. It offers a platform for like-minded people to network, share knowledge, and discover practical solutions for taking action. The app also has its currency, Tercoins, to offset sustainability as a topic only for those who can afford it. Organizations and individuals earn these Tercoins with the option to purchase sustainable products.” – WHU Feature
