Co-founder of Terum, Garrett Riggio, sat down with Tech Magazine to discuss all things Terum: the mission, the inspiration, the challenges, and the unique presentation in the world of technology that Terum offers.
Garrett shares his vision for Terum and how he got his footing in environmental technology. After becoming “heavily involved in sustainability startups (including The Red Road Foundation), scale-ups, and trying to impact our environmental, business, and social opportunities”, Garrett knew that Terum could be “the world’s largest social platform to educate, inspire, and raise the bar for our planet.”
Building a unique environmental platform like none other is no piece of cake, but Garrett and his team agree that the challenge is well worth the outcome. One of the largest challenges Garrett explains, is, “the distribution and content. Also, making sure the value we add is unlike any other, we walk the oath we preach. Being an active environmentalist is also tricky when you have a life that may not be able to support a lot of the buoy changes. But this is why we need to build understanding and awareness around the empowerment of environmentalists.”
Terum commits to the idea of bringing environmentalists, no matter how involved, together across the globe to create a community. One that shares environmental ideas, stories, inspiration, news, and opportunities for others to learn, grow, and become confident environmentalists.
While Terum is still in its early beta-testing phases, Garrett explains that Terum’s supporters and founders are, “like family.” The talent from founders and supporters of Terum is essential to creating the, “first social platform and eventually tech company building a holistic all-in-one tool for connection, playing, and shopping with eco-focused people, products, and services.”
